Not all Austin Area schools support an orchestra program. At Austin High, we do. In the spring, we join our top brass, woodwinds, and percussion with our strings program to create two full orchestras. These groups compete in UIL concert and sight-reading evaluations.
Our full orchestras are jointly conducted by Ms. Ana Maria Solís-Herrera, the Austin High orchestra director, and our band directors, Mr. Patenaude and Ms. Vest.
CHAMBER ORCHESTRA

Other Orchestra Opportunities
Some of our wind players audition for and make All-Region Orchestra, which meets for a weekend clinic in the fall.
Austin High is proud to be the rehersal home of the Austin Youth Orchestra, and some of our band members perform with this select group. On Monday nights in the spring, these students reherse with top musicians from around the region at Austin High.
